Pole Dancing Classes
Bookings now being taken for January, new classes available on Thursdays Tel: 01343 550033Pole dancing is a complete body work out. It is a physically and mentally demanding sport and will improve your flexability, muscle tone, core strength and an increase in self belief. It takes strength of mind as well as physical strength to perform many of the spins, inverts and climbs. If you have any doubt about pole dancing as a sport why not give it a go, you will soon change your mind!

What to Expect
The classes are formatted to enable you to build up your physical strength and co-ordination by learning the easier spins and poses before moving on to climbing the pole and more technical spins and tricks. Everyone progresses at their own pace and you will not be pressured into keeping up with the class.
Some pole tricks are easier to learn than others. The moves you will learn may feel strange at first you need to give your brain and body time to make the connections you want, it's very rewarding when moves you are struggling to learn 'click' into place. As your body becomes stronger and more supple the tricks will feel easier and you will be able to perform them gracefully.
It's completely normal to feel a little shy and nervous when first starting pole dancing, but you'll quickly find it fun and addictive! The trick is to relax, don't judge yourself by others but just have fun with it. Once you've warmed up, been put through the basics of walking round the pole, adopting good self carriage and some basic spins and poses you'll really start to enjoy it. As you lose your initial nerves, you will feel more relaxed with the dance pole then your centre of balance will improve and the moves you perform will look more elegant and graceful. Not only will you learn the various spins and poses but also transitionary dance moves and floor work to link the spins together. There is always something new to learn!
